Essential cookies

When you sign in, Gutward sets essential cookies (via our authentication provider, Supabase) to keep you signed in and to protect your account. These cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function, are not used for tracking or advertising, and are not shared with any third party for marketing purposes.

What this page is not about

Two features send data to external services as part of a request you make, but neither sets a cookie or tracks you across visits: recipe-photo import sends the photo you upload to OpenAI for one-time ingredient extraction, and barcode scanning sends the scanned barcode number to Open Food Facts. Both are described fully in our Privacy notice, not repeated here since they aren't cookies.

Gutward+ checkout and billing management happen on pages hosted by Stripe, our payment provider, on Stripe's own domain. Stripe may use its own cookies or similar technology there, for example for security and fraud prevention, under Stripe's own policies. Gutward itself does not load Stripe scripts or set Stripe cookies on gutward.com.

If this changes

Any future analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookie would require an appropriate consent mechanism before being added, and this page would be updated to describe it accurately beforehand — not after the fact.
